Young AZ Girl founded on friday
CORDES LAKES, AZ (NBC) – A young girl in Arizona was found safe Friday morning thanks to her dog.
Victoria Bensch, 3, disappeared Thursday night while playing outside with her dog Blue.
After apparently getting lost, she spent the night in the woods in 30-degree weather.
Just before 9:00 a.m. she was found by a helicopter crew and reunited with her parents.
Officials, and her family, said the dog is a big reason she is safe.
“We have to give a lot of credit to Blue, the dog, the Queensland heeler,” Victoria’s aunt Kim Rayfield said. “He pretty much stayed with her all night and I’m hoping that’s what kept her warm and safe. She’s telling us that she went to look for Rusty, which is the other dog, and he didn’t take off, he was still at the house all night, but she was looking for Rusty and she said that she was in the woods looking at the moon all night. So, she was trying to find home, and find the horses, and she was trying to find her daddy.”
