CPAC Rocked by Ron Paul

Ron Paul supporters came out in force on Friday, chanting their support for the Texas Republican congressman.

Paul was the only speaker so far to fill the entire convention hall at the Conservative Political Action Conference, and some of his supporters were turned away after the room reached its capacity of 1,100 people.

With the conference running an hour behind, Paul’s army assembled early, occasionally breaking into chants of “end the Fed” as other speakers tried to address the crowd.

ST LUCIA: Taiwan dismisses allegations

CASTRIES, St Lucia, CMC – Taiwan has dismissed an allegation by the main opposition St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) that it had provided a significant sum of money to members of the ruling United Workers Party (UWP).

The SLP had called on the Stephenson King government to account for monies granted by Taiwan and the ruling party, indicating that some members of the government “were each personally granted funds amounting to one million dollars, allegedly to assist their constituencies. Particular ministers also received sums over and above the amounts made to their colleagues”.

But in a statement, Taipei’s Castries-based envoy, Tom Chou, dismissed the allegation as “unfounded and untrue”.
